Development of Our Hearings, Our Voice – progress to date
The development of OHOV has involved working with young people and a variety of partners over the last couple of years including a series of engagement jams with young people to develop some of the thinking about what the board will look like. In 2017 young people were asked to suggest potential names for the board and were then given the opportunity to vote electronically for their favourite name. Our Hearings, Our Voice was then confirmed as the new name.
Following funding being secured from the Scottish Government, in October 2017 the recruitment campaign for the Development Worker post begun. The Development Worker Jacqui Dunbar took up post at the end of January 2018.
Recruitment is underway (March 2018) for a Development Assistant to help support the work of Our Hearings, Our Voice
The next stages will be to develop the recruitment campaign for OHOV and get out and meet children and young people around the country who might be interested in getting involved.
One of the first actions for the young board members will be to design a logo for Our Hearings, Our Voice.
