Introduction

An exciting Keeping The Promise project is underway focusing on improving our use of language in the Children’s Hearings System.

This Language Leaders project is backed by the Children’s Hearings Improvement Partnership (CHIP), which includes all key organisations that play a part in Children’s Hearings. Young people from OHOV, the CELCIS VIP project and a local champions board are driving this project forward, alongside a number of professionals who work in the Hearings System.

The Project aims to make sure that all children who attend hearings are supported to understand and be included by transforming the use of written and spoken language. We all aim to avoid additional distress and traumatisation for children.
